Ihiala Council Chairman Blasts AA Deputy Governorship Candidate Over Falsehoods On Insecurity In Isseke Community

RAYMOND OZOJI reports

The Executive Chairman of Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State Hon. Engr. Anayochukwu Charles Ojiakor has blasted the Deputy Governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in the November 8th gubernatorial polls, for saying that Isseke community is still under the captivity of hoodlums terrorising the area.

Ojiakor who emphasized that Isseke community is relatively safe now, stated without equivocation that Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo spends more money on security in Ihiala local government area than any other local government in the state.

Ojiakor who spoke exclusively to HEADLINE NEWS in response to allegations raised by the Deputy Governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) and a chieftain of the party where one allegedly claimed that Soludo wants to use Ihiala local government to rig the incoming governorship election over insecurity and the other alleged that there are not enough security posts in the council area to curb criminal insurgents, said such allegations were lies from the pit of hell as well as figments of the peddlers' imaginations because he believes that the governor is working assiduously to enthrone a tranquil atmosphere in Ihiala Local Government Area devoid of incursions from hoodlums.

Ojiakor said he doesn't know the AA Deputy Governorship candidate who claimed that he hails from Isseke community in Ihiala and that the money Anambra State Government spends on security in Ihiala Local Government is more than the money spent on any other local government in Anambra State.

He said Ihiala Local Government has four FOBs and that the money spent on each of them is highly exorbitant, stressing that the AA Deputy Governorship candidate should verify his claims before misleading the public with wrong information.

The Chairman therefore challenged the AA Deputy Governorship candidate to go to Isseke where he revealed that security personnel have been stationed there for the past three months, adding that military officers have been on ground ensuring watertight security in Isseke.

Ojiakor noted that there is heavy security presence in Isseke and that the community dwellers are going about their lawful businesses devoid of attacks from hoodlums in the area.

He maintained that soldiers, DSS officials, Agunechemba vigilante operatives and other security agents are in Isseke to ensure peaceful atmosphere in the area.

He therefore admonished rumour peddlers including the AA Deputy Governorship candidate to first and foremost inquire about the true situation of things in Isseke and Ihiala Local Government before going to the public to dish out falsehoods and all manner of concoctions.

On the issue of inadequate security posts across Ihiala Local Government, the Chairman stated that currently there are security posts at Ihiala-Orlu road by Total filling station junction; that security personnel are mounting pin down at Ezego junction, Okija junction, Uli junction, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Uli campus and a host of other strategic junctions and places across Ihiala Local Government.
