APGA Reaffirms Commitment To Good Governance In Anambra

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has reaffirmed its commitment to good governance in Anambra State. 


This was the crux of the matter at a high profile strategic meeting of the stakeholders of the party held at Bon Hotel Awka at the weekend. 


The high profile strategic meeting which was a composition of the local government Mayors, local government APGA chairmen and a host of others also had the National Chairman of APGA Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, the member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Dr. Paschal Agbodike, the State Chairman and Convener of the meeting Barr. Ifeatu Obi-Okoye in attendance. 


The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa said the strategic meeting was an annual retreat between the members of the State Executive Working Committee of APGA in Anambra State as well as the State Executive Council, the Local Government Mayors, Local Government APGA Chairmen and a host of other stakeholders of the party. 


Ezeokenwa stated that the essence of the strategic meeting was to clearly outline the vision and manifesto  of the party for all the elected officers on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance to know that they are ambassadors of APGA in whatever positions they find themselves and must continue to live up to the mantra of progressivism as the meeting emphasized. 


He explained that the interface was to increase the strategic partnership, harmony and strategic alliance with all strata of the party as they move into the 2025 governorship election, adding that the bottom line was to enthrone good governance in Anambra State. 


The APGA national chairman noted that from the yardstick of measuring good governance, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo is the best governor in Nigeria judging from his monumental achievements in healthcare, education, road infrastructure to mention a few; stating that the governor has won various awards in critical sectors. 


Ezeokenwa therefore maintained that the ultimate goal henceforth was to extend her strategic partnership to other states of the Southeast and even the North using the template of what APGA has achieved in Anambra State in the last 19 years, stressing that APGA is about good governance and nothing else. 


Meanwhile the Convener of the high-powered strategic meeting of APGA stakeholders and state chairman of the party in Anambra High Chief Barr. Ifeatu Obi-Okoye (Igiligi) corroborated what the national chairman said, saying that APGA represents good governance judging from the transformations in all the sectors of the state economy. 


Obi-Okoye stressed the need to take the message of the All Progressives Grand Alliance to the grassroots to enable those in the hinterlands understand and better appreciate what the APGA government has done and still doing to enthrone a liveable and prosperous homeland for all and sundry. 


He equally disclosed that the leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in the state has launched what he termed the Solution Kindred Initiative. He said that Anambra State has about 12,300 kindreds and it is the intention of the party to have an executive structure in every kindred in the state. 


He stated that APGA is the only political party on ground in Anambra State. That the party has been on ground because it has been in government doing good things for the people of Anambra State. Although he was cognisant that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has done exceedingly well in office, he said the party faithful still he as a responsibility to make sure that they translated the governor's performance into votes for the party. 


Obi-Okoye opined that in barely 3 years, Soludo has performed more than the governors that have done 8 years in office. He said Governor Soludo has done 50% of the campaigns with his outstanding performance and the rest of the campaigns, according to him, are left for party faithful to go and bring out the voters to cast their votes for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). 


The member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Rt. Hon. Dr. Paschal Arinzechukwu Agbodike noted that APGA is a political party built on truth and delivering good governance to the people. 


Agbodike said Anambra is an APGA state and that the citizens have welcomed the party with open hands therefore the party will have no problems winning the forthcoming governorship election in the state, adding that the victory this time will be over 90% of the votes cast in flavour of APGA. 


He said Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has demonstrated that APGA is a political party that has the interest of the people at heart and has equally delivered in all the sectors of the state economy. 


One of the local government Mayors who is the Executive Chairman of Ekwusigo Local Government Area Hon. Chimezie Obi said the strategic cum tactical meeting was to foster cordial relations with both elected and appointed officers on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). 


Obi said that the general concern now was to take APGA to the kindred level (Umunna) to build as well as maintain her grassroots structures, emphasizing that APGA is the most progressive political party in Nigeria.
