By Raymond Ozoji, Awka

The Mayor of Awka-North Local Government Area of Anambra State Hon. ThankGod Chibuike Anagor has declared that there is no more kidnapping and other forms of insecurity in the council area following strategies adopted to rejig and revive local security architecture.

Anagor who made the declaration at his country home Ngbakwu, noted that Awka-North is calm, peaceful and devoid of all manner of unrest as community dwellers go about their legitimate activities without fear; adding that his people are predominantly farmers and that agric business thrives exceedingly well in the council area.

Although he stated that as TC Chairman he was able to meet the expectations of his people through investments in education as clearly evident in the renovation of dilapidated school structures in Awka-North; he said now that he has been elected as the Mayor of Awka-North, he would do more for his people because they believe very strongly in his transformational leadership style.

Anagor who stressed that before his election into office as Mayor of Awka-North, his people have already started receiving the dividends of democracy from his administration which according to him was the remote reason they voted overwhelmingly for him to continue in office as Mayor of Awka-North.

He said his major priority as the newly elected Mayor of Awka-North would be to continue as well as consolidate on the trajectory of rural development as he pointed out that there are plans in place to empower rural farmers, strengthen education and enhance local economy in general.

Anagor therefore maintained that Awka-North Local Government Area is now safe and well secured unlike what obtained in the past as youths and young people in the council area are now being equipped with economic skills for self-emancipation and self-empowerment.
