It was indeed a unanimous decision at Ezi-Nwafor village square Umubele Awka, Awka-South Local Government Area of Anambra State on Thursday as stakeholders, APGA party faithful and other citizens in Agulu-Awka came out en masse to publicly accept and endorse the candidacy of Hon. Prince Chinedu Okafor and his Deputy and also assure the duo of resounding electoral conquest come September 28, 2024.
It was however crystal clear from the standpoints of the ward leader Ozo Jude Emeka Agumadu (Baby Awka) Ozo Obi Ochijie Modilim, Iyom Ego Okika and a host of other very high profile individuals that Awka ward 5 has rejected candidates of other political parties together with those of Edozie Njoku's faction and in one accord, settled for Prince Chinedu Okafor and his Deputy.
Indeed, the mammoth crowd that thronged Ezi-Nwafor village square confirmed their belief that a new Awka-South will emerge with Prince Chinedu Okafor as the Executive Chairman because in their separate speeches, they all attested to the fact that the Crown Prince of Okpuno Kingdom proved his mettle as a TC chairman.
Baby Awka who recalled that Hon. Prince Chinedu Okafor was his school mate at CIC Enugu, said Agulu-Awka has maintained its leading position in ensuring that APGA win elections in Awka-South Local Government Area.
He said Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo rescued Awka ward 5 from perennial flooding by constructing Agulu-Awka major road and the people heaved a sigh of relief from many years of catastrophic experiences due to the deplorable condition of the road.
Agumadu assured Prince Chinedu Okafor that ward 5 will vote massively for him and ensure landslide victory for him in the area even as he equally drew his attention to other developmental issues in Agulu-Awka ward.
Another stakeholder in the area in the person of Ozo Obi Ochijie Modilim, noted that ward 5 will never forget Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo's intervention in their domain. Ochijie said he is optimistic that Prince Chinedu Okafor will tow the line of the governor and begin his first official assignment in Agulu-Awka.
Meanwhile Managing Director of the Anambra State ICT Agency Hon. Fred Chukwuemeka Agbata, who also hails from Awka ward 5, noted that apart from the governor's intervention in ward 5, Governor Soludo is also working around the capital city as evident in the construction of a 10-storey hotel, the Solution Fun City Recreation Centre and a host of others; thereby urging the people to cast their votes for Prince Chinedu Okafor, whom he believes will replicate the solution agenda in Awka ward 5.
Dr. Victor Agumadu also attested to prince Chinedu Okafor's ability to serve creditably and exceedingly well as Mayor of Awka-South, noting that Agulu-Awka has always been foremost in supporting the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Also a former Mayor of Awka-South Local Government Area Hon. Emmanuel Ekene Okoye said Awka ward 5 will support Prince Chinedu Okafor 100%.
He said their support for him will be practically demonstrated on September 28 when the entire Agulu-Awka will troop out en masse to cast their votes for Prince Chinedu Okafor and wait patiently for the votes to be counted and announced publicly as he believes equity demands that Prince Chinedu Okafor should be allowed to be the next elected Executive Chairman of Awka-South Local Government Area.
