LG Polls: ASATU Backs Soludo, APGA

 By Raymond Ozoji,  Awka

The Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU) has declared total and unflinching support for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as the state prepares to go to the polls September 28 to elect council chairmen and councilors.

Speaking to HEADLINE NEWS exclusively at the ASATU national secretariat Government House Awka on Thursday, the national president Chief Barr. Titus Nnabuike Akpudo, said it is a policy of the association to support the government in power especially when such government is doing well like the present state government under professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.

Akpudo stated that Anambra State is not synonymous with electoral violence and that ASATU will ensure that all the Town Unions and Presidents-General ensured hitch-free polls in their respective communities.

He reiterated the fact that the government of Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo is doing exceedingly well as ASATU will mobilize all the communities to ensure victory for the governor to enable him to continue with his good works for the overall development of the state.

Although Akpudo observed that some political parties out of personal aggrandizements, boycotted the September 28 Anambra Local Government Elections, he therefore opined that in line with the constitution of ASATU, all the town unions of the 179 communities should support the government in power and also ensure smooth conduct of the polls in their respective local government areas.
