Nobody Was Favoured In APGA Senatorial Primary Election -- Nwafor

RAYMOND OZOJI reports

The Mayor of Orumba-North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon. Capt. Casmir Nwafor says nobody was favoured in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) senatorial primary election held last Monday at the Aguata council secretariat Ekwulobia.

Nwafor who spoke to HEADLINE NEWS exclusively at the venue, said that the primary election which produced Chief Emmanuel Chibuzor Nwachukwu as the party's candidate for the August 16th bye-elections, was free, fair, credible, transparent and devoid of confusion and rancour.

Nwafor said he was an observer at the election and that the aspirants agreed to make it a brotherly affair so that there would be no crisis after the primaries.

He said that with the conduct of the primaries, the party is now poised to win the election, adding that the party will support Chief Emmanuel Chibuzor Nwachukwu to ensure that he wins the Anambra-South senatorial bye-election.

According to him, other aspirants voluntarily stepped down for the candidate of the party and reached an amicable resolution to support and campaign vigorously for him to ensure that APGA clinched the Anambra-South senatorial seat come August 16th this year.
