Why Late Justice Azuka's Wife Should Replace Husband In 8th Assembly -- Anambra Lawmaker

RAYMOND OZOJI reports

The leader of the Labour Party caucus of the Anambra State 8th legislature and member representing Onitsha-South 2 state constituency Hon. Jude Umennajiego has stressed the urgent need for justice, equity and good conscience to prevail in the forthcoming August 16th bye-elections in Onitsha-North 1 state constituency.

Umennajiego who recalled that late Justice Azuka was gruesomely murdered in cold blood while in active service in spite of claims of safety and security of lives and property in the state by the present administration, maintained that it will only be fair and just, should the wife Mrs. Justina Amaka Azuka continue from where her late husband stopped till 2027.

Until his painful death in the hands of his abductors, Umennajiego stated that the departed lawmaker was not only loved and held so dearly by the people of Onitsha-North 1 constituency but the entire Onitsha metropolitan city where the late lawmaker had touched lives in the most remarkable manner.

Umennajiego emphasized that the way and manner in which late Justice Azuka was killed suggested that his family continued from where he stopped till 2027, adding that there is a grave and concerted effort to ensure that the late lawmaker's wife replaced her husband in the 8th assembly.

He said, " Justice Azuka was loved not just in Onitsha-North 1 but in the entire Onitsha and even beyond. The young man's life was cut short untimely and in a cruel manner. "

Although he pointed out that some of the killers of late Hon. Justice Azuka have been apprehended by the Police, the LP lawmaker was of the opinion that his abduction and eventual murder left a big question mark on the security of lives and property of Anambra citizens.
