How Soludo Revived Spirit Of Children's Day Celebration With Solution Fun City Awka

RAYMOND OZOJI reports

It was commendation galore at the Anambra State world-class leisure and entertainment centre known as Solution Fun City Awka as children celebrated the annual International Children's Day in grand style.

Over 100 schools across the state as well as children from all strata of the society were at the brand new Solution Fun City Awka to have a very colourful celebration for the very first time since Anambra was created many years ago.

The children who were very delighted at what they saw at the new Solution Fun City Awka during the 2025 Children's Day Celebration, unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo after touring the facility; chanting solidarity songs saying Soludo is indeed the solution governor Anambra has been looking for decades ago because it was a unanimous endorsement and consensus amongst the children that the governor has revived the spirit of Children's Day Celebration in the state with the provision of the Solution Fun City where they could visit to have real fun.

They confirmed the governor's disruptive change and transformative governance, declaring that they never knew that such a place could ever exist in Anambra State unlike what they see in other places during Summer holidays, Christmas holidays and other vacation periods. The children affirmed that Governor Soludo has proven that he loves the Anambra child and also investing in their future.

Some school children who spoke to this journalist during the occasion described the new Solution Fun City Awka as Alice in wonderland because of the type of facilities at the multi-purpose playground.

Master Edozie Chika of Community Secondary School Amansea in Awka-North Local Government Area, said to the best of his knowledge such a recreation facility never existed not only in the capital city but in the entire state until recently. The young lad therefore attested to the fact that children now have a befitting place where they could go to for sight-seeing and also have swell time with friends and family members.

Nwankwo Precious, a JS 2 student of Global Spring International High School Isuaniocha Awka-North Local Government Area, said the governor is even performing more than they expected. She said that the Solution Fun City is indeed a nice place and the children are happy to have such a facility at their doorstep.

Teachers who brought their pupils to the 2025 Children's Day Celebration at the new Solution Fun City Awka were not left out from the torrents of eulogies and encomiums showered on the governor. They described Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo as not only teachers' friendly but also children friendly, judging from his free education policy and other policies promoting children's welfare in the state.

Obiora Chioma, a teacher at Community Secondary School Enugwu-Agidi Njikoka Local Government Area of the state, said that the governor is doing absolutely more than well from she saw on ground at the Solution Fun City. She said that the governor bears the interest of Anambra children at heart and the children are really happy with him.

The principal Ukpor High School, Mrs. Nwosu Ifeyinwa, on her part, said the children won't forget the beautiful experience they had at the fun city in a hurry. Mrs. Nwosu reiterated that the governor has the interest of the children at heart and that the fun city is indeed magnificent.

Ekwunife Philomena Ifeoma, the principal of Community Secondary School Ifite-Ogwari in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State was of the opinion that due to the crisis of insecurity, COVID-19, Endsars, Corona virus and other public health hazards, Children's Day Celebration was forgotten in Anambra State. But according to her, Soludo came and revived it with the Solution Fun City Awka where she said Anambra children now have a befitting place for recreational activities, emphasizing that posterity will always remember the governor for his exemplary leadership.

Meanwhile the Chief of Staff to the Anambra State Government Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, noted that government has built roads, provided security in the state and has also provided entertainment and leisure for the people, adding that the government wants a state where people can work, enjoy and relax, which according to him, is why government provided Solution Fun City.

The State Chief of Staff therefore emphasized that the governor is intentional about providing infrastructure and transforming Anambra State from being a departure lounge to a choice destination.

Mrs. Chikwendu Josephine who is the  Chairman Association of Primary School Head Teachers of Nigeria Anambra State Wing, on her part, declared that the 2025 Children's Day Celebration was indeed unique and exceptional because of the beautiful experience they had at the fun city. She said Anambra teachers are promising the governor landslide victory on his second term reelection because he really deserves it.

The Special Adviser to Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo on Entertainment, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Bob Manuel Udokwu, also affirmed that this year's Children's Day Celebration in Anambra State was remarkably different because of the entertainment, leisure and tourism centre, which he described as the biggest leisure park in West Africa.

Udokwu stated that the new Solution Fun City Awka is the only leisure park in the world that has a country club. He said that Anambra children had a special children's day celebration with the governor who was there to showcase the family fun centre he built for Ndi-Anambra, adding that it is part of the governor's dream to make Anambra a destination point as opposed to a departure lounge where people would want to leave to go to other places for fun.

He said that Agulu Lake in Anaocha Local Government Area of the state is further being developed as a tourism attraction. Other tourists' attractions in the state, according to him, include the Ogbunike Cave in Oyi Local Government Area, the Owerri-Ezukala Natural Waterfalls in Orumba-South council area and that the governor intends to build entertainment centres in all the 21 Local Government Areas of the state,so that if they can't come to the Solution Fun City Awka, they can as well use alternative recreation centers in their respective LGAs, stressing that most governors couldn't have achieved half of what Soludo did in three years in eight years.
