RAYMOND OZOJI reports
As the stage is now set for the conduct of primary elections in no distant time to determine who eventually gets ticket to fly the flag of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the incoming Anambra-South Bye-Election; there are very strong indications that the pendulum swings in the direction of Rt. Hon. Dr. Paschal Arinzechukwu Agbodike.
While investigations reveal that the Labour party have concluded arrangements to cede ticket to someone from Ihiala zone as historical records have it that Ihiala hasn't gone to the Senate since the return of democratic rule in 1999, it will not be counterproductive should Paschal Agbodike be considered for APGA ticket because further investigations into his political profile reveals that Agbodike is not only a force to reckon with in Anambra-South but also in the entire state.
An insider source within the APGA family in Anambra State revealed that Paschal Agbodike is already at a vantage position for the ticket because of his long standing loyalty and dedication to the ideals of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Although the source noted that it is within the purview of the state or national chairman to determine whether the party's ticket should be zoned to Ihiala, the source maintained that Agbodike who is currently representing Ihiala Federal Constituency at the National Assembly is a better brand to represent APGA in the forthcoming Anambra-South bye-electoral contest and has the capacity to win the contest for APGA.
The APGA chieftain further disclosed that they are working tirelessly to make sure that the party's ticket is zoned to Ihiala and that Paschal Agbodike is made candidate of the party. The chieftain restated the fact that Ihiala hasn't been to the Senate and equity demands that Ihiala went to balance the political equation in Anambra-South senatorial district.
The source described Paschal Agbodike as a loyal and dedicated party man and someone whom they can repose confidence in not somebody who win election on the platform of the party and thereafter abandon the party for his personal business.
The source said Paschal Agbodike has toiled with APGA and knows the people of Anambra-South and Anambra in general. That they want somebody who will not change party because of his business or personal interests, stressing that Rt. Hon. Dr. Paschal Arinzechukwu Agbodike is the cynosure amongst the crowd of persons seeking APGA ticket to run in the forthcoming Anambra-South senatorial zone bye-election.
