APGA Performs Last Burial For Factions, Oppositions

RAYMOND OZOJI reports

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has performed the final funeral rites for factions, oppositions and all malignant forces seeking every means possible to destabilize the party with fictitious and frivolous court cases intended to cause chaos, crisis, confusion and commotion within the party.

The final funeral rites which has laid to rest issues of factionalisation within the party following the timely intervention of the Supreme Court of Nigeria has ushered in a new era of direction and unity of purpose with the enthronement of Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa whom political scavengers attempted to steal his mandate many a time but eventually met their waterloo.

The Regional Headquarters of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Awka was filled to capacity on 13th December 2024 as APGA faithful from the 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra State, the Southeast and the entire country gathered to say goodbye to distractions and detractors while welcoming in a most historic manner Chief Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa whom the apex court has certified as the true and authentic national chairman of APGA with immediate effect.

It was a solemn gathering as APGA anthem rend the air while the spirit of late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, the progenitor of APGA hovered around the arena in gratitude to the Supreme Court of Nigeria for upholding democracy because APGA is a divine movement.

While the real APGA members bid farewell to emissaries of rifts called factions, the entire atmosphere became torrents of emotions as they rejoiced with music and dancing because the righteous is back on the throne. That in spite of the fierce legal battle regarding the authentic national chairman of APGA, it all ended in praise because the will of God eventually prevailed and Barr.  Sly Ezeokenwa retained his rightful position as the national chairman of the party.

Although it was an occasion to rejoice over evil machinations and calculated attempts to distract Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo from his focus, speakers on the occasion concurred that never again will APGA witness any form of sabotage or betrayal as seen in the desperation of some dramatis personae.

Hence the State Chairman of APGA in Anambra Chief Barr. Ifeatu Obiokoye (Igiligi) declared that the real and authentic APGA members were happy because what happened has prepared them for the 2025 governorship election in the state. He said that they not only gathered to celebrate the Supreme Court victory but also to celebrate the victory of APGA in next year's election. That if the scenario had gone otherwise, they would have been gnashing their teeth and morning their fate.

Obiokoye noted that while they were chasing those who crept into the party through the backdoor to destroy it, they were equally celebrating glory and the rebirth of APGA because a brand new APGA has eventually emerged through the Supreme Court victory.

Meanwhile Hon. Amaka Obi who is the Idemili-South Mayor and the only woman amongst the 21 Local Government Mayors in Anambra State, said that the welcome home ceremony organized for Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa was to send a message to opposition camps that Anambra is APGA and APGA is Anambra. Obi noted that seasonal politicians came to steal and to kill but the God of the real APGA members didn't allow it, stressing that all the 21 Mayors were fully and completely in solidarity with the party especially at the grassroots where she maintained that they would do all it takes to make sure that they silenced opposition elements.

Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly Rt.Hon. Chukwuma Pius Okoye corroborated what Hon. Amaka Obi said, saying that the occasion was to send a message across to all political scavengers and malignant oppositions that APGA is in-charge. Okoye maintained that the 2025 governorship election is a done deal for APGA and there is absolutely nothing opposition elements can do about it.

The Deputy Speaker said that he never developed cold feat all through the legal tussle because he was confident that Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa will surely triumph in the end. He said he believes equally that APGA is built on solid rock and that come 2027, APGA will win more states in Nigeria.

A member of the Board of Trustees of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and former Deputy Governor Chief Emeka Sibeudu stated most sincerely that where ever the spiritual leader of APGA Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu is lying, he would be very happy because the battle, according to him, is over. Sibeudu stated that all that is needed from the party members was to carry on and win elections. He therefore congratulated the national chairman Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa on his Supreme Court victory and equally thanked God too for what he has been doing for the All Progressives Grand Alliance.

The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Mazi Ejimofor Raphael Opara in his remarks, announced to the progressives who listened with avid attentiveness that they are welcomed to a new era in APGA and that they have a national chairman who have unequivocally declared that he would drive APGA to enviable heights. Opara emphasized that it was time for APGA to conquer the Niger and that under the leadership of Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa APGA will definitely conquer the Niger.

Also the chairman of APGA caucus in the national assembly and former Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly and currently representing Ihiala Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber Rt. Hon. Dr. Paschal Arinzechukwu Agbodike, said it is a great joy that they were welcoming their national chairman Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa to the regional office in Awka to celebrate the victory given to them by God Almighty. Agbodike said that the victory of APGA at the Supreme Court is a true testament that APGA is owned by God Almighty.

Agbodike noted that the litigations were targeted to destroy APGA but God gave them victory. He therefore extended profound gratitude to all those who saw to it that APGA triumphed at the Supreme Court especially Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the former national chairman of APGA Ozonkpu Victor Ike Oye and a host of others. He however mentioned that on behalf of the APGA caucus of the House of Representatives, that APGA is a national party as many colleagues of theirs in the Green Chambers have been approaching them that they want to join APGA. He said that there are just two progressive parties in Nigeria; the All Progressives Grand Alliance and one other. Agbodike stated that APGA is a party that rewards loyalty and that loyalty to the party should be 100%, nothing less.

The Chief of Staff Mr. Earnest Ezeajughi who spoke on behalf of the Exco members, said they were not surprised that Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa would win at the Supreme Court because they know that the actions of their antagonists were nothing but a mirage. Ezeajughi said that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo is working on all sectors of the state economy; that there is need to support him to ensure that he returns for a second term in office.

The Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim told the progressives that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo stood by Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa until the very day Supreme Court declared him the authentic national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance. That there is also need for everyone to join forces to ensure that APGA continues to grow from strength to strength.

Meanwhile the Mayor of Njikoka Local Government Area Barr. Dominic Chinedu Ononiba said obviously the welcome home ceremony organized for Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa was invariably the final funeral ceremony of any factions in APGA. Ononiba stated that APGA no longer has any factions and that the party is one indivisible family under the leadership of Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa. According to Ononiba, the Supreme Court victory has validated APGA's 21/21 victory in next year's Anambra governorship election.

Another member of Board of Trustees of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and former Commissioner for Information and Culture in Anambra State Chief Maja Umeh, said that the statement that was made at the ceremony was that APGA is now one united family for the sole purpose of projecting progressivism. Umeh said that they would open up their hands for greater alliances across Nigeria. He said that they are calling on other progressives to come and join the most authentic progressive movement in the country.

According to him, truth has finally prevailed and they are celebrating the Supreme Court judgement. The former information commissioner noted that Anambra is already APGA and next year's gubernatorial election in the state is already a walkover. That the next move now is to extend APGA to other states of the federation.

On his part, the national chairman of APGA Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa said he received phone calls from ward chairmen, ward secretaries and councilors telling him that they were praying for his victory at the Supreme Court. He therefore thanked God Almighty for the Supreme Court victory and also thanked Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo profoundly for standing by him financially and otherwise all through the raging storm.

Ezeokenwa noted that there has been consistent attempts to destroy APGA from 2005 till date. He said because APGA is a political party specially ordained by God, every antics of the enemy will always come to nothing. The APGA national chairman recalled that from 17th March 2006 that APGA government came into power, Anambra State became liberated from maladministration and bad governance and that the trajectory of development has been on a steady rise.

According to him, various indices of governance shows that Anambra State is taking the lead in the country. He said that in the entire Nigeria, Anambra State is the least in out of school children because of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo's free and compulsory education policy. He also stated that in Nigeria today, Anambra State is the least in terms of both maternal and infant mortality as a result of the free antenatal and post natal care of the state government, adding that the best political party in Nigeria is the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
