RAYMOND OZOJI reports

As part of ongoing efforts to assess and enhance security across Anambra State's twenty-one Local Government Areas, the Commissioner of Police  CP Nnaghe Obono Itam convened a strategic meeting on November 6, 2024, with key leaders of Idemili North Local Government Area.

The gathering, held at the Ogidi Divisional Police Headquarters, included Chairman Hon. Stanley Nkwoka, traditional rulers, community presidents, members of the Anambra Vigilante, the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), and other stakeholders.

During his address, CP Itam called upon residents, community leaders, and local organizations to actively support the Police and other security agencies in countering criminal activities and resisting the recent security threats associated with the no-movement directive on Mondays in the area and throughout the state.

He emphasized that public trust in the Police and other security agencies is valued and assured that this confidence would not be taken for granted.

In his response, Hon. Stanley Nkwoka expressed appreciation for the Commissioner’s proactive engagement, pledging to expedite the renovation of police facilities damaged in the region, including the Ogidi Police Area Command Headquarters.

His Royal Highness Godwin Nwabunwanne O., representing the traditional rulers, also pledged to maintain security awareness efforts among local communities, reinforcing the importance of collective vigilance and cooperation.
