RAYMOND OZOJI, reports
The State Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Anambra-South senatorial district Hon. Ikem Surplus Ewuzie, says APGA will win the forthcoming by-election in the south senatorial zone with a monumental victory.
Ewuzie stated that APGA will replicate the electoral conquest of the September 28 Local Government Election in the upcoming south senatorial by-election.
Ewuzie told HEADLINE NEWS that the by-election is very critical to the APGA family in Anambra-South as it is their desire to have a Senator of APGA extraction to represent Anambra-South at the red chambers.
He said major reason is that Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo is from Anambra-South; that it will be a thing of great joy to APGA in Anambra-South and to Governor Soludo as an individual, if the party is able to push a Senator from Anambra-South senatorial zone.
He said the by-election is a major project and they are setting strategies on ground to grab the seat. Although Ewuzie noted that it was quite unfortunate that the former Senator representing the south senatorial zone Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah joined his Creator untimely, he said Anambra-South can not remain without having someone representing it at the senate chambers hence the need for the by-election and APGA family in Anambra-South, according to him, is getting seriously ready to clinch the seat.
Ewuzie was of the opinion that most likely a lot of people would declare interest to contest the election on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) but their responsibility as a party would be to ensure that a level playing field is given to everybody.
He assured prospective aspirants that equal opportunities would be given for all of them to showcase their strengths even as he pointed out that one person must eventually emerge as the party's candidate for the by-election.
He therefore emphasized that anyone who emerges as the party's candidate for the by-election; that in the spirit of APGA, they would all rally round the person and give him tremendous support as a family.
Ewuzie noted that it is on record that APGA is not a political party bedeviled with intra-party squabbles as it is always the case with other political parties shortly after primaries are conducted which he said usually ended up in court litigations. That APGA isn't known for such intra-party crisis as every person is treated equally and respectfully.
Ewuzie said he was 100% sure that APGA will win the Anambra-South senatorial by-election because he believes that from what happened during the Local Government Elections, it is certain that APGA has made a statement that it is the only political party in Anambra State, adding that APGA won the 21 council seats and all the 326 political wards.
He said they are confident that they will replicate what transpired in the Local Government Elections by winning Anambra-South senatorial seat with a landslide victory, stressing that no other political party is contesting the election with APGA.
