The Chief Security Officer of Nkpor community in Idemili-North Local Government Area of Anambra State Chief Chris Okey Udeze says one Ekene has been arrested for stealing a heavy duty generator coil worth N1 Million.
Udeze who disclosed this to HEADLINE NEWS on Wednesday via a video of the suspect confessing to the crime, also disclosed that the suspect was aided by a vigilante operative in commiting the crime.
He said that the suspect is a serial thief who went to steal the coil of a heavy duty generator used to generate power for a welding machine.
Udeze said the suspect committed the crime with the knowledge of a security man in the area whose name is Oscar. He said that the suspect sold the stolen property to one Ugo for N170,000 and settled the security man who aided him in the crime with N10,000.
He said all those involved in the crime have confessed and that the culprits are still in their custody as they are deepening investigations to see if they can recover the stolen coil after which the suspects would be handed over to the police.
From the video, Ekene said he used saw to cut the bolt holding the coil from the engine. That when he was cutting the bolt, the security man whom he identified as Oscar came and saw him but asked him to continue what he was doing but ensure that he gives him his own "share" of the proceeds from the stolen item.
The suspect said rather than confront him, the security man gave him two Action Bitters for him to drink and insisted that he must settle him from the loot and thereafter he settled the security man with N10,000 for helping him to steal the coil.
