Chinedu Nelson Orjiakor, candidate of the Labour Party for the September 28 Anambra State Local Government Election has declared that he is coming to rescue Ihiala Local Government Area from bondage and captivity of cabals strangulating the council area.
Orjiakor who spoke to HEADLINE NEWS on Friday, also appealed to Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo to allow Ihiala people choose a Chairman that would be accountable to the people and not a stooge that would be accountable to cabals only.
He said Ihiala has been under siege by hoodlums for six years yet no meaningful efforts were made by successive administrations to tackle insecurity and enthrone a tranquil atmosphere in the council area.
Orjiakor who assessed the performance of the incumbent and said that the incumbent has done virtually nothing to warrant reelection, maintained that Ihiala has been under attack for a very long time and that the current council chairman has done nothing to tackle insecurity.
According to him, nothing is being done with the allocations that come to Ihiala Local Government Area and no town hall meeting or forum is being organized by the council authority to render account of stewardship to the people.
Chinedu Orjiakor therefore posited that a local government area like Ihiala does not deserve an incompetent chairman or someone bereft of strategic ideas on how to heal Ihiala from her current socio-economic quagmire.
He noted that the era of hotel attendants ascending chairmanship positions in Ihiala through godfatherism is over and done with because Ihiala people are sick and tired of stooges representing interests of few individuals who foisted them on the people.
The Uli-born multi-national business mogul who described the September 28 Anambra Local Government Elections as a golden opportunity for Ndi-Ihiala to elect a competent person as chairman, noted that Ihiala will resist and reject any attempt to impose or plant another stooge as chairman of the local government.
Although he acknowledged that the insecurity in Ihiala Local Government is a very pathetic one, he assured that if elected, he knows what to do to bid insecurity farewell from Ihiala, emphasizing that he has the master plan as well as architectural drawings of how insecurity will become a thing of the past in Ihiala Local Government Area.
The LP candidate also noted that the problem of insecurity in Ihiala is partly as a result of the fact that leaders in Ihiala have not done well in the area of infrastructure and industrialization as he believes that the hoodlums in the bushes are factory hands that could be deployed more meaningfully if there was a proper and functional local government system.
He said Nnewi is not bedeviled by insecurity because industrialists in the area built factories and engaged their people meaningfully. That if the leaders in Ihiala would build factories and employ youths, no one would choose to live in the bush to make money through unconventional means.
He said if elected, he would not only rescue Ihiala from cabals but also restore the hope of Ihiala people so that they would start coming home and businesses would return again.
Orjiakor who stated that people are running away from home because they don't know who is who anymore, stressed that Ihiala would be safe and secured under his watch because he is coming very prepared.
