Children Not Secured In Soludo's Community As Primary Schools Lack Fences, Toilets

Children attending Model Primary School, Central School, Ikeme Primary School and some others in Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo's country home Isuofia are not safe and secured due to lack of fences in the schools.

Apart from children not being secured, the primary schools also lack toilet facilities where pupils can ease themselves when they are pressed.

These according to the President-General of Isuofia People's Assembly (IPA) Engr. Fidelis Okafor are some of the most pressing needs of schools in the community.

Okafor who made this known during the 2024 New Yam Festival of the community held at Isuofia Civic Centre on Saturday, stressed the dire need for urgent attention to be paid to schools in Isuofia especially primary schools.

He said that the need to fence the schools to protect pupils, teachers and school properties from external aggressions can not be overemphasized because security, according to him, is of paramount importance.

Although he pointed out too that the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) has instructed communities in the state to through the Public-Private-Community-Partnership Model assist government in developing schools in their respective domains.

Meanwhile Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo who is an indigene of the town and a distinguished guest on the occasion, assured his people through Isuofia People's Assembly that their needs would be met.

Soludo also enjoined other indigenes of the community who possessed the requisite financial enablement to contribute their own quota in fencing the schools and providing toilet facilities coupled with other paraphernalia to make the schools function properly.

Soludo who is currently adopting a primary school in his community, also urged other public-spirited individuals of Isuofia origin to borrow a leaf from him and endeavour to adopt schools through funding, building and renovation of school structures, provision of educational materials, scholarship schemes and other forms of assistance as he believes those are monumental legacies for posterity.
