The Executive Chairman of Nnewi-South Local Government Area of Anambra State Hon. Van-George Chinedu Ezeogidi says he would make it a point of duty to inspect projects every 48 hours till the end of February to ensure quality and strict compliance to specifications.
Ezeogidi who stated this while speaking to HEADLINE NEWS exclusively on Friday, said the essence of such routine inspections was to ensure that shoddy jobs were not executed and that the people of Nnewi-South got the very best of projects in line with their most pressing needs under his regime.
He said he had earlier declared February this year as the month of quality projects for the people of Nnewi-South Local Government Area and that the said declaration is his driving force to ensure that every project executed or to be executed in Nnewi-South is done in accordance with his administration's policy statement on quality project execution, stressing that a progressive Nnewi-South is assured under his watch.
Ezeogidi said, " As the Executive Chairman of Nnewi South Local Government Area, I have begun the installation of solar-powered lights to replace conventional electric power in thirteen Primary Healthcare Centres and other health facilities across our council area.
Upon receiving the panels and equipment for installation, I reiterated my commitment to utilizing all available resources to enhance the welfare of our people. The solar-powered system will significantly boost productivity, improve emergency response, and enhance security in our healthcare facilities.
I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to His Excellency, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, for his dedication to creating a livable and prosperous Anambra State. I also appreciate the support of Dr. Afam Obidike, the Anambra State Commissioner for Health, and Dr. Nnadozie, SPAD on Pharmaceuticals.
This solar energy system, powered by lithium batteries, will provide reliable electricity to the following thirteen healthcare facilities namely Health Centre, Odikpi Osumenyi, Primary Healthcare Centre, Isoke, Amichi,Primary Healthcare Centre, Ifite Ezinifite (Charity),Primary Healthcare Centre, Etiti Akwaihedi,Unubi Primary Health Care Centre, Etitinabor Primary Healthcare Centre, Urueze Ekwulumili, Primary Healthcare Centre, Uboma Ukpor,Primary Healthcare Centre, Umuehim Utuh,Primary Healthcare Centre, Isuokpala Azigbo, Primary Healthcare Centre, Umunwehi Amichi, Primary Healthcare Centre, Ebenator, Primary Healthcare Centre, Ukpor and Primary Healthcare Centre, Obiofia Osumenyi.
I won't forget to appreciate the efforts of my deputy, Mrs Nneka Ireka, who is also in-charge of Education and Health in Nnewi South. I also thank the supervisor for health, Mr Okechukwu Umemba(super supervisor) and the entire twenty ward elected councillors, who have continued in pushing and making this a reality."
