The Chairman All Soludo Support Groups and National Convener of Soludo Support Group (SSG) Chief Chinedu Nwoye Glamour has declared that no support group endorsed Chief Dr. Jude Okechukwu Emecheta for Anambra-South senatorial seat.
Nwoye who responded to what he saw as misrepresentations in the online media concerning a consultative meeting held with Emecheta at Mr.Smith Relaxation Centre Agu-Awka, told HEADLINE NEWS that it was wrong for the media to report that all support groups have endorsed and backed Dr. Jude Emecheta for the Anambra-South senatorial race coming up next year.
Nwoye maintained that Emecheta was one out of the battalions of contestants contesting for the Anambra-South senatorial seat and that he can not be placing the cart before the horse when the party has not decided her candidate yet.
Nwoye who also functions as State Chief Protocol Officer and Deputy Chief of Staff further disclosed to HEADLINE NEWS that Jude Emecheta met with leaders of support groups and unveiled his ambition to represent Anambra-South at the Senate to them.
He said that they encouraged him but the way and manner in which the meeting with Dr. Jude Emecheta is being reported in the media leaves much to be desired as no support group ever endorsed him.
He emphasized that there was no way he would personally endorse Jude Emecheta or endorsed him on behalf of other support groups because the leaders, according to him, will still go back to their own people to root for him but he said to quickly run to the press to claim that support groups have endorsed him creates confusion and rancour because there are a lot of people in the race.
Reacting to the foregoing, Dr. Jude Okechukwu Emecheta who also spoke exclusively with HEADLINE NEWS on the endorsement by All Soludo Support Groups, maintained that there was no misrepresentation or wrong impressions created in the media because the chairman of All Soludo Support Groups Chief Chinedu Nwoye Glamour was there present when they declared publicly that all the support groups have endorsed him.
Emecheta disclosed that the group photograph used in publishing the story was not photoshopped rather it was a group photograph taken shortly after the endorsement and unanimous declaration of support for him. He also stated that the author of the controversial news report was present at the consultative meeting.
Emecheta said it was Chinedu Nwoye Glamour who even raised the issue of support groups buying nomination form for him irrespective of the cost. Although he said he warned Glamour not to attend the meeting but the latter insisted that he would attend, adding that he didn't give them money for the endorsement because they did it out of their own volition.
Emecheta further disclosed that the consultative meeting was not about endorsing him but a forum to solicit for the help of their coordinators in the south senatorial zone even though they ended up endorsing him willingly due to his capacity and capability to provide quality representation to the people of Anambra-South senatorial district.
