Soludo Support Group Begins Local Government Tour, Tasks Mayors On Good Governance At Grassroots

RAYMOND OZOJI reports

Soludo Support Group (SSG), the flagship campaign organisation for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has commenced her congratulatory visits to the Mayors, Deputy Mayors and Councilors of the 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra State.

The tour which started 21st November with visits to the Mayors of Awka-South, Njikoka, Dunukofia and Oyi, were veritable platforms for the national officers of SSG led by the Convener and National Coordinator Chief Chinedu Nwoye Glamour to remind the newly elected Chairmen of the dire need to localise the Solution Agenda at the grassroots and also pursue good governance.

Nwoye who also functions as the State Chief Protocol Officer and Deputy Chief of Staff reminded the Mayors visited that they were the ambassadors of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo in their respective council areas and they should endeavour to replicate what the governor is doing across the state in their local government areas.

Nwoye however advised the Mayors to be just, fair and equitable as well as apply due process and the fear of God in handling the affairs of the local government council even as he also admonished the Mayors to always interface and interact with support groups in their respective council areas as they were very strong pillars in spreading the message of good governance as championed by the Soludo administration.

In their separate speeches, the Mayors visited assured the group that the dividends of good governance would permeate and penetrate the grassroots while promising that they would continue to have meetings with support groups to strategize for victory in next year's November 8th Governorship Election in the state.

Delivering vote of thanks, Chief Barth Chigozie Awugosi, Ozo Obi Ochijie Modilim and some other national officers of SSG congratulated the newly elected Mayors, their Deputies and Councilors, urging them to use their positions to entrench massive rural development in their respective council areas.

Highlights of the visits were presentation of portraits to the Mayors by the SSG family and group photo sessions.
