The Mayor of Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon. Engr. Anayochukwu Orjiakor has said security is improving massively in Ihiala following priority attention Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo accorded the council area.
Orjiakor who spoke to HEADLINE NEWS about positive developments in the council area, emphasized that Governor Soludo is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that insecurity becomes a thing of the past in the area.
He said people are now returning back to Ihiala and settling down to a new lease of life as a result of the tranquil atmosphere currently pervading the entire council area.
According to him, there would be massive homecoming for the Christmas and New Year festivities because Ihiala is headed for watertight security.
Apart from improvements in the security situation in Ihiala, Orjiakor also disclosed that the leader and other principal officers of the legislative council have emerged.
The Mayor who stated that the Leader of Ihiala Local Government Legislative Council was zoned to Ihiala town, noted that Hon. MacHenry Ebuka Nwabueze from Uzoakwa ward emerged as the leader of the House alongside other principal officers, adding that the Congress of Councilors have also been inaugurated.
The Mayor said youth empowerment and human capital development in Ihiala Local Government would be central to his administration as he believes that meaningful engagements would be veritable panacea to addressing criminal tendencies.
Orjiakor equally disclosed that Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo gave Ihiala Local Government modern medical equipment for distribution to all health facilities in Ihiala for comprehensive healthcare delivery.
He said health facilities in Ihiala Local Government Area are very functional now because there are specialists and other health professionals handling the facilities even as he commended the governor for rejigging Anambra health sector with recruitment of new medical personnel for quality healthcare delivery in the state.
