Chinedu Obigwe Has No Conscience --- Anambra APC

BY RAYMOND OZOJI,  Awka

The Anambra State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described a chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state called Evangelist Chinedu Obigwe as a character with no conscience for referring to its party chairman Sir Basil Ejidike as a conman and political lunatic in a viral online article recently.

The aforestated description which is reflected in a statement released by the APC State Director of Publicity Chief Chris Okey Udeze, further described Chinedu Obigwe as an amoral character paid by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to cast aspersions on people as well as unleash all manner of gutter cum vulgar language on them as seen in his recent attack on the state chairman of the APC, Sir Basil Ejidike.

The APC Director of Publicity who maintained that the attack on the person and position of the party chairman were unnecessary, recalled that Sir Basil Ejidike was a former House of Reps member, a former state party chairman of the CNC, a former Commissioner and a host of other public offices he held with integrity and decorum.

The statement has it that as the State chairman of the APC in Anambra, Basil Ejidike has ensured APC remained the only stable political party and cynosure of politicians in the State pursuing their political ambitions on the platform of the party.

The statement reads," Politics, they say is a dirty game. Those who don't want to get soiled up avoid getting into the murky waters of politics.

Nothing can be more true. That is the only reason why the so-called Evang Chinedu Obigwe, whom we all  know has no conscience, will take up pen and paper to write unprintable things about the person of Sir Basil Ejidike JP, just to please his paymasters.

Who is Chinedu Obigwe? In a recent post by so-called Evang Chinedu Obigwe, he described Sir Basil Ejidike as a "con man that parades himself as APC Chairman". Chinedu Obigwe sacrilegiously described Sir Basil Ejidike as one who profits from elections.

The question is who is Chinedu Obigwe? He described himself as Evang Chinedu Obigwe, (Akaekpuchionwa and Chinyelugo 1 of Ogbaru) National coordinator of APGA Media Warriors Forum. Chinedu is clearly a paid agent doing the hatchet job for his paymasters to run down anyone perceived to be a thorn in their flesh.  They call it playing politics.

Sir Basil Ejidike on the other hand is a man who has paid his dues and carved a niche for himself in politics; and has never considered it necessary to cast aspersions on his opponents.

A tested politician, Sir Basil Ejidike contested and won a seat in the House of Representatives on the platform of the CNC in 1998 to represent Onitsha North/South Federal Constituency.

Before then, Hon Ejidike was the former Deputy Chairman of old Onitsha Local Govt [ when the present Onitsha North, South and Ogbaru LGAs were one].He also served as the local government chairman of Onitsha South between 2003- 2006; and State Chairman of CNC in 1997.

He was once a Commissioner in the Anambra State Education Commission, 2000-3; and Director, Anambra Palm Development Agency in 1992. Currently, Hon Ejidike is the APC Chairman in Anambra and Coordinating Chairman, SouthEast Zone.

Sir Basil Ejidike has made success of everything he laid his hands on. His only frustration had been his inability to lead the APC into the Anambra State Government House and this, he has vowed to do this time around.

The coast is clear for him to achieve this. He has successfully managed the affairs of the party to the point that the APC can today be said to be the only party that is rancour free in Anambra state. A clear pointer to this is the recent influx of notable politicians from other political parties into the APC.

There is no gain saying the fact that, but for astuteness of Chief Basil Ejidike and deftness in handling the affairs of the party, the APC in Anambra state would have run aground.

Ejidike has successfully held the APC together in Anambra state against all odds, managing different powerful interest groups and harnessing their potentials towards achieving a common goal; getting into Agu Awka Government House.

It is now clear to all and sundry that the fortune of the APC in Anambra state is about to change. It is therefore not surprising that the likes of Chinedu Obigwe has been mobilized to cast aspersions on Hon Basil Ejidike in the vain hope of stopping him from achieving his ambition.

It is a well known fact that Chinedu Obigwe is not the only person that has been paid to sling mud at Chief Ejidike in a bid to stop him. Hon Ejidike does not wish to pay these paymasters back in like coins.

An advocate of politics without bitterness, Sir Ejidike believes that there is absolutely no need for name calling and has directed his teaming media men not to take their eyes off the ball.

It will take more than a thousand Chinedu Obigwes to sway Hon Basil Ejidike from achieving his goal of leading the APC into the Agu Awka Government House now that it is clear that APGA has nothing left to offer after twenty years of clinging on to power.

The people are yearning for a positive change and this Chief Ejidike wants to provide them with."
