Anambra Declares Total Victory For Soludo As November 8th Beckons

RAYMOND OZOJI reports

Anambra citizens have declared total victory for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo as the November 8th governorship polls beckon. This declaration was made manifest at the new Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square Awka during the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Governorship Primary Election on Saturday 5th April, 2025 where over 4000 citizens of the state collectively affirmed the governor as their sole candidate.

The affirmation which was a bold confirmation that the citizenry have declared no vacancy in the Government House, also lent credence to the overwhelming acceptance and endorsement of the governor due to his magical performance which has left his political opponents in utter consternation and bewilderment.

Although the All Progressives Congress (APC) produced Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu as its flag bearer through an alleged bloody primary election and the Labour Party chose Chief George Moghalu as its gubernatorial candidate while other party candidates are being expected, Ndi-Anambra have insisted that the trajectory of good governance must continue with Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo on the saddle.

The peaceful conduct of the APGA primaries as well as the comportment and decorum of the delegates and electoral officers is a clear and unmistakable testament that the All Progressives Grand Alliance is the only true progressive political party in Nigeria because of the way and manner in which the party conducted her affairs.

It was indeed historic that an aspirant was overwhelmingly endorsed as a sole candidate with an assurance that the governorship election is already a done deal as they all vowed to protect their votes from marauding opposition elements and their emissaries of rift.

That was the consensus opinion as Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo gladly accepted his nomination as the APGA gubernatorial candidate for November 8th governorship election, promising Ndi-Anambra that if reelected, he will never disappoint them or let them down for any reason.

As a result, the Executive Mayor of Ihiala Local Government Area Engr. Anayochukwu Charles Ojiakor told HEADLINE NEWS that the unanimous affirmation of the governor as sole candidate depicts his unwavering commitment to infrastructural transformations in the state.

Ojiakor noted that Anambra citizens have spoken with one voice that Soludo will continue in office come November 8th this year; that with or without the machinations of the oppositions, they will rally round the governor and ensure total victory for him because he deserves it by all standards of measuring good governance and delivery of democracy dividends.

The Ihiala Executive Mayor also stated that Ihiala is not left out from the priority list of the governor as he mentioned that Governor Soludo has extended his magic wand to Ihiala Local Government Area.

He said the ongoing construction of Oluoha road, Amamputu-Okija road and completion of two other roads coupled with the restoration of peace, stability and security in Ihiala are some of the very pivotal reasons Ihiala will give Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo 100% votes come November 8th this year.

For the Executive Mayor of Awka-North Local Government Area Hon. ThankGod Chibike Anagor, the people of Awka-North irrespective of political party affiliations believe that Governor Soludo has done exceptionally well for the council area. Anagor opined that the governor has constructed over 45 kilometers of roads in Awka-North which he described as unprecedented since the local government was created.

He said Awka-North is forever indebted to Governor Soludo because it was only his administration that remembered the council area after many years of neglect and abandonment by previous administrations. He noted that come November 8th this year the people of Awka-North will speak with one voice and they will deliver 95% of the total votes that would be cast in the area.

Meanwhile Hon. Ifeanyi Chinweze the Executive Chairman of Anambra-East Local Government Area was of the opinion that there's absolutely no reason Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo should not be reelected for a second term in office.

He said that the governor's road revolution has extended to Anambra-East where the governor is rehabilitating Igbariam road to Anaku, Awkuzu-Otuocha road and also constructing another road from Odene bridge to Mkpunando-Aguleri-Otu - Enugwu-Otu, adding that a lot of infrastructural works are going on in Anambra-East even as he mentioned a new general hospital being constructed at Enugwu-Otu-Aguleri courtesy of the Soludo administration thereby making Anambra-East the only local government area in Anambra with two general hospitals.

The Anambra-East council chairman therefore posited that as way of appreciation, the entire Anambra-East have declared total victory for Governor Soludo, emphasizing that they would deploy every arsenal to ensure the governor is returned come November 8th this year.

On the other hand, Mr. Celestine Anere who functions as the Managing Director of the Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (Ochabrigade) declared that the general consensus is that the governor is doing exceptionally well. Anere stated that there is virtually no town or community that the governor has not touched with his disruptive transformative change.

He added that everywhere across the state, it is the same narrative of positive change championed by the Soludo administration. The Ochabrigade boss maintained that Anambra citizens have declared total victory for the governor because his achievements in just three years is mind-blowing.

Also former Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism as well as member Board of Trustees of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Chief Maja Umeh who described the APGA governorship primary election as calm and orderly, maintained that Governor Soludo has not disappointed the All Progressives Grand Alliance and the people of Anambra State.

Umeh stated that from all indications none of the political parties has the stamina to withstand the All Progressives Grand Alliance and that they are even more dwarfed by the good works the governor is doing.

He said as it stands, Governor Soludo has no credible challenge and can never have any credible challenge in the forthcoming November 8th governorship election, adding that Anambra is 100% APGA and election results can not be thwarted in the state.

The ex-Information commissioner who noted that APGA has consistently delivered good governance to Ndi-Anambra for the past 19 years, emphasized that APGA has not produced a candidate that let the party down or the people of the state.

The state house member representing Aguata 2 state constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly Hon. Tony Muobike also corroborated the opinions of others describing the APGA primary election as the calmest electoral process he has been involved in. Muobike stated that APGA is so proud of what Governor Soludo has done in just three years in office and that the citizens have passed a vote of confidence on him and endorsed him for another tenure.

Muobike noted that the governor's three year performance is unprecedented in the history of the state. That his giant strides in developmental projects speak volumes as every local government area has been turned into a construction site.

He said that the affirmation of the governor as sole candidate of APGA meant a declaration of total victory for him in the November 8th governorship election because they have collectively taken a stand that the delivery of good governance as exemplified by the Soludo administration must continue with the reelection of the solution governor Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Mr. Oluatuegwu !
